# Maya, your outreach agent

> What Maya is, what to ask her, how she remembers your conversations, and when to ask a person instead.

**Maya** is the AI guide built into the Maildeck app. Ask her
anything about cold email, your setup or which plan fits you, and she answers straight away, any time of day.

She's the quickest way to get unstuck. For anything about your bill or a specific order, you'll want a person instead
(see [below](#when-to-ask-a-person-instead)).

## Where to find her

- **At the top of the app sidebar**, labelled **Outreach Agent**. This opens a full conversation with her.
- **During onboarding**, where she helps you work out what you need.
- **On product pages**, for example the LeadSonar and EmailShield pages in the app, where she suggests questions to ask
  about that product.

## What to ask her

Maya knows how cold email works and how Maildeck is set up. Good questions include:

- "I want 50 calls a month. Which plan do I need?"
- "How many leads do I need each month?"
- "What's the difference between Outlook, Google and SMTP inboxes?"
- "How long does warmup take, and can I send during it?"
- "How many emails can one Outlook inbox send a day?"
- "What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC, in plain words?"
- "Why should I verify my list?"
- "How do I write an email that lands in an Outlook inbox?"
- "My bounce rate went up. What should I check?"

Ask follow-ups the way you would with a person. She keeps track of what you've already said in the conversation.

## Plans she suggests

When you ask which plan fits, Maya works from a goal, usually booked calls a month, and shows you the chain: calls,
then emails, then contacts. The plans and prices she suggests come straight from our **catalogue**, the same one the
checkout uses, so they match what you'll see in Quick Start. She won't make up discounts or custom prices.

Her numbers are rules of thumb, not promises. Real results depend on your offer and your list.

## She remembers your conversation

Your conversation with Maya is saved to your account, so you can close the tab and pick it up later. Three buttons at the
top of the chat help you manage it:

| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| **New topic** | Starts a fresh conversation. Your current one is kept. |
| **Earlier conversations** | Shows your past conversations so you can reopen one. |
| **Delete this conversation** | Deletes the conversation you're in. Maya forgets it. |

> **Tip**
> Start a **New topic** when you switch subjects, for example from choosing a plan to fixing a DNS problem. Shorter,
> focused conversations get better answers.

## She can make mistakes

Maya is AI, and AI can get things wrong. If an answer looks off, or it really matters (money, a launch date, a domain at
risk), check it with a person or against these docs.

> **Caution: Never share secrets with Maya**
> Don't paste passwords, API keys or card numbers into the chat. Maya doesn't need them and won't ask for them.

## When to ask a person instead

Maya can explain things, but she can't act on your account. Message a person for:

- refunds, cancellations and downgrades,
- billing changes, VAT or invoices,
- anything about a specific order: its status, a domain, an inbox that isn't working.

Use the **chat bubble** in the bottom-right corner of the app, your **private Slack channel**, or email
**help@maildeck.co**. See [Getting help](https://docs.maildeck.co/support/getting-help/) for all the options.
