# Choosing a plan

> Turn the number of calls you want each month into emails, contacts and the right Maildeck plan.

Pick your plan by how many cold emails you'll send a month. Most people start from a goal ("I want 50 calls a month"),
turn it into emails with a simple rule of thumb, and then pick the smallest plan that covers those emails. Up to 40,000
emails a month is the **Diversified Starter**; up to 215,000 is the **Diversified Growth**.

## The rule of thumb

We use the same numbers as the app and Maya:

- About **1 booked call per 500** cold emails.
- About **1 positive reply per 200** cold emails.
- Each contact gets about **3 emails** in a sequence, so **contacts needed ≈ emails ÷ 3**.

## From goal to plan in three steps

1. **Calls to emails.** Multiply the calls you want each month by 500. For 50 calls: 50 × 500 = 25,000 emails a month.

2. **Emails to contacts.** Divide the emails by 3. For 25,000 emails: about 8,300 new contacts a month to find

3. **Emails to plan.** Use the table below. 25,000 emails fits under 40,000, so that's the Diversified Starter.

Notice that the plan is driven by emails, not by contacts or replies. The contacts column tells you how big a list you
need each month, which matters just as much: a plan that can send 25,000 emails is no use without about 8,300 fresh,
verified contacts to send them to.

## Why we recommend a Diversified Stack

Every Diversified plan mixes Outlook, SMTP and Google inboxes, so one provider changing its rules doesn't stop all
your sending. If you only want one inbox type, you can also buy Outlook, Google Workspace or SMTP on their own, or one

## When to talk to the team

Message a person (chat bubble in the app, your private Slack channel, or help@maildeck.co) when:

- **You need more than 215,000 emails a month** but less than 1 million. You start on Growth and the team sizes a
  custom stack on top.
- **You need to start sending soon** and can't wait for new inboxes to warm up. Ask about pre-warmed tenants;
  availability varies.
- **You want an unusual mix** of inbox types or volumes that no plan matches.
- **You're between two plans** and want a second opinion.
