# After you order

> What our team does once you've paid, how to follow progress, and what to get ready while your inboxes are built.

Once you've paid, our team builds your inboxes, sets up DNS and warmup, and connects everything to your sequencer.
There's nothing technical for you to do. Setup usually takes **48-72 hours**, and you can follow it on your dashboard.
Use that time to get your leads and your copy ready.

## What our team does

1. **Builds your inboxes.** We create the Outlook tenants, Google Workspace accounts and SMTP inboxes in your order,
on your domains, with the sender names you chose in Quick Start.

2. **Sets up DNS.** We add the records that prove your emails are really from you (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) on every
domain. [SPF, DKIM and DMARC](https://docs.maildeck.co/domains-dns/spf-dkim-dmarc/) explains what each one does.

3. **Starts warmup.** New inboxes need a period of gentle, automatic sending to build a good reputation before cold
   campaigns. See [Warmup](https://docs.maildeck.co/deliverability/warmup/).

4. **Connects your sequencer.** We add your inboxes to the sequencer you connected in Quick Start, so they show up
in your account ready to use.

> **Note: How long it takes**
> Setup usually takes 48-72 hours. It can take longer, for example if we can't log in to your registrar. Your dashboard
> always shows where things stand.

## How to follow progress

- **Your dashboard.** Your order and its progress appear on the dashboard in the app.
- **Your private Slack channel.** Your first order opens a private Slack channel with our team. It's the place to ask
about your order and get updates from people who are working on it.
- **Maya and live chat.** Maya, the AI guide in the app, answers general questions any time. For anything about your
specific order, message a person through the chat bubble or your Slack channel.

## What to do meanwhile

Your inboxes are only half the job. While they're being built, get the rest of your stack ready so you can start as
soon as warmup allows.

1. **Build your lead list.** Decide exactly who you're writing to (industry, job title, company size) and find them.
[LeadSonar](https://docs.maildeck.co/leads-verification/leadsonar/) finds the right people and their work emails. As a rule of thumb you
need about one new contact for every 3 emails you plan to send.

2. **Verify the list.** Run every list through [EmailShield](https://docs.maildeck.co/leads-verification/emailshield/) before sending. Bad
addresses bounce, and bounces damage your new domains.

3. **Write your copy.** Short, plain, one clear question at the end. If you're sending from Outlook, follow the
stricter rules in [Writing for Outlook](https://docs.maildeck.co/deliverability/writing-for-outlook/): no links, no images, no open
   tracking, about 50 words.

4. **Plan your sending.** Check the [safe sending limits](https://docs.maildeck.co/deliverability/sending-limits/) so you know how many emails
a day your inboxes can handle once warmup is done.

> **Caution: Don't rush the first sends**
> Sending lots of cold email from brand-new inboxes is the quickest way to burn a domain. Let warmup run, then start
> inside the safe limits.
